SHAKESPEARE FOR DINNER
Theatre today owes its' very existence to groups of actors who roamed the countries around the world, telling stories and acting out plays. If you were a nobleman, you could enjoy a performance in your own home and surroundings. Dell'Arte do just that, bringing shortened versions of some of the Classic plays to your dinner table. No more sitting through 4 hours of unedited Shakespeare [although that is also possible!] but a selection of the most well known excerpts of some of Shakespeare’s greatest plays before, during and after dinner. The excerpts are tailored round your event.
MacbethExcerpts from:
• Romeo and Juliet [4 actors]
• A Midsummer Night’s Dream [4 actors]
• Macbeth [4 actors]
• Shakespeare’s greatest hits! [a selection of the well known speeches from his plays – you could even have a competition to “name that play!”]
• Selections of speeches built around a theme eg. Love, Ambition, Drinking, Inspiration
• Plus others upon request.
DELL'ARTE are also able to offer a number of other options:
Murder at the Mansion
• a fun Murder Mystery evening/weekend involving the murder of the leading Actor/Manager in a 1950's Theatrical Troupe.
Burns
• Greatest Hits [fun romp through his poetry, done in the style of “I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here!”
• One man recitation of his poetry as Burns himself.
Christmas Evenings
• An Evening with Charles Dickens [and the Lady of the Manor/Housekeeper]
• Themed Evening with modern and ancient poems, stories and carols. Ideal for round the fireside!
